St Paul’s Church is performing the holiday favorite, Handel’s “Messiah”, on Sunday, December 3 at 5pm at the historic church in Englewood. This Baroque-era oratorio, still current and popular 250 years after Handel’s death, will be presented by the St Paul’s Choir and Choir School, under the direction of Mark Trautman. It will feature soprano, Karol Steadman, contralto Giulia Utz, tenor Ravon Middlebrooks, bass John-Andrew Fernandez and the St Paul’s Chamber Orchestra. The Christmas portion and Hallelujah Chorus will be performed by the St Paul’s Choir which includes professional and volunteer singers, known for its wide range of repertoire from Renaissance polyphony to Jazz and Gospel music. Joining them will be St Paul’s Choir School, a unique, tuition-free program for children from age 8 through high school whose students come all over Bergen County. They performed with the award-winning “Chieftains” at bergenPAC and for the upcoming HBO film “Sharp Objects” with Amy Adams.
